Customizing the Drupal 6 LiteJazz Theme for this Website

I like the LiteJazz theme. It has Son of Suckerfish menus, variable width layout (someday I may use this), collapseable sidebars, and a pleasing and clean interface. But it isn't perfect. Or let me rephrase that - it isn't perfect for me. I have identified a number of changes to the LiteJazz theme which are expounded in a number of bite-sized tutorials over the next few pages. By working through these exercises you will have a website similar to this. Hopefully this will give a Drupal theme novice the confidence to have a go at a similar mini-project.

Before we get started, you need to have the LiteJazz theme installed on your site. Download it, then pay particular attention to the instructions and please follow those to the letter. Once you have done this, you should have a working LiteJazz theme on your Drupal 6 site. If you don't, it's reread the instructions time I'm afraid...

One final word - it's extremely easy to stuff your Drupal installation whilst working on themes. Make a mistake and you could be locked out - so bookmark the next page which gives you some handy recovery procedures.
