1550 "Sir James"
Built in 1917 in Kilmarnock
This fireless steam locomotive was delivered to the Ministry of Munition, Gretna, near Carlisle, in 1917. Sold later in 1924 to the Metropolitan Electric Power Supply Company Ltd., Brimsdown Generating Station where the name Sir James was given. There it stayed until 1975 when it was moved to Fleetwood Power Station. It was finally transferred to Haverthwaite in 1982 where it is awaiting restoration.
