Notes

Yey! It's Mexican food night! The July 2011 issue of BBC's Good Food devoted a double page spread purporting to what the average Tijuanense may well be quaffing and necking on a typical Saturday night. Naturally the centrepiece of this meal is the ever popular fajitas, and is accompanied with guacamole, sizzling onions and peppers, soured cream and washed down with hearty drafts of Mexican beer cocktails.

Fajitas are the go-to meal when I'm considering Mexican food, and so this recipe appealed greatly. I opted for rump steak since it is my favourite. Fillet may melt in the mouth, but it doesn't have the same depth of flavour. I marinated the meat for about 5 hours and it permeated nicely and provided a lovely tangy after taste.

The entire evening spawned four recipes. The other three are:
Good Food Great Guacamole
Good Food Michelada (Mexican Beer Cocktail)
Good Food Sizzled Onions and Peppers

Changes from Published Recipe

Very few changes from the printed recipe. I was cooking for two so the ingredients were halved, and whilst i didn't have the forethought to marinade overnight, the meet did get sufficient time. I used fresh oregano rather than dried although i suspect it didn't make much difference.
