Notes

Yey! It's Mexican food night! The July 2011 issue of BBC's Good Food devoted a double page spread purporting to what the average Tijuanense may well be quaffing and necking on a typical Saturday night. Naturally the centrepiece of this meal is the ever popular fajitas, and is accompanied with guacamole, sizzling onions and peppers, soured cream and washed down with hearty drafts of Mexican beer cocktails.

What is this? A beer cocktail? First I've heard of it, but what's not to like? This sounds like a fiendishly good idea! In fact, the reality doesn't quite live up to the fantasy, and this "recipe" (which is using the term loosely) actually contains way too much lime as written. I would strongly suggest a little experimentation, and you should keep trying up until you get it correct! Smile

The entire evening spawned four recipes. The other three are:
Good Food Great Guacamole
Good Food Barbecued Fajita Steak
Good Food Sizzled Onions and Peppers

As mentioned, I really don't believe four beers require six squeezed limes!! Empirically (after a load of trying) I determined the optimal lime quotient was about 0.5 of one lime. Very refreshing!
